Admission

Admission to International Liberty School is based on the criteria outlined and detailed in this regulation.

The “Procedures for Admissions Inquiries” will be followed for all candidates for admission.

All students must satisfy the minimum entry requirements for the grade which they wish to enter.

All documentation required must be on file in the registrar’s office prior to the student entering class. (The principal of School and administrative team can grant exceptions in special cases).

At least one parent, legal guardian, or designated adult must be able to communicate in the English language.

Interviews by the registrar, principal, and Head will be held with the parents or legal guardians of each candidate for admission. The expected role and involvement of the parents/guardians at Liberty shall be explained during these interviews.

The maximum number of students in each class is 15 to 18. In the event a qualified, foreign student applies for admission, this maximum may be exceeded at the discretion of the Head.

A transfer student shall have placed on his/her transcript all credits and grades earned prior to registration at Liberty, but Liberty will determine the credits which may be applied toward graduation requirements. Students will be advised of credits that will be accepted upon initial enrollment.

Local transfer students must attend International Liberty School for a minimum of three years in order to qualify for a diploma. Students transferring to International Liberty School from US-accredited institutions may receive a diploma at the end of one year of attendance, provided they meet all the requirements.

In case where grade placement is in question, the school will determine the final placement. It is the belief of the School that it is better to place a student to maximize success than to risk failure. Therefore, students whose placement is in question will be enrolled in the lower grade of the grades being considered.

All applicants for admission, whether accepted or denied, will receive a written confirmation of their status from the Head.
